We're Turning 30!

Yes, you read that right. Black Tie and White Satin is officially 30 years old this year! We couldn’t have done it without all the love and support of our loyal customer and community. So to start off this weeks edition of STYLED, we want to simply say, Thank You!

What’s the backstory of Black Tie and White Satin?
We were started in 1994 by Susan and Nick Janssen right here in Fremont, NE. She started in a different location working for Jacobs Bridal. Soon, she saw an opportunity to live out her dream and she took it. Susan’s passion for fashion and commitment to her community made her a staple in Dodge County. Countless brides hold onto memories of shopping and wearing the perfect Black Tie and White Satin gown on their big day. We quickly transitioned into prom and formal wear as every age girl got to express their personality through our store. As we’ve grown, we have expanded our physical business with our prom loft. Girls from 7 different states and 300 different schools find themselves upstairs shopping for the perfect prom, homecoming, or pageant gown each year. Our bridal showroom has grown leaps and bounds as well, showcasing top designers and the hottest styles made for every bride. Now, we continue with that same drive and passion as a family run and operated business.

What’s next for Black Tie?
Just because we have dedicated so many years to our community doesn’t mean we’re stopping any time soon. We strive to be the ONLY stop in the Midwest for the best selection in bridal, prom, homecoming, and pageant, and our team is dedicated to 30 more years of unparalleled customer service and making all of our brides and girls look and feel beautiful. As a family owned business, we know the value of each and every person that steps foot into our store. Our team is always on your side as we work countless hours to find the perfect look for YOU! As we look towards the future, we can’t wait to facilitate more “Ah-Ha” moments, more memories that last a lifetime, more empowerment for women of all ages shapes and sizes. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about. Here’s to 30 more years!

How are we celebrating?
Well, the cat’s out of the bag now! To kick off our 30th Anniversary Celebration, we are hosting at open house in our store on Friday September 27th. Whether you were in our store yesterday, or 30 years ago, we want to invite you back as a thank you. So much has changed in 30 years, and we want to share our success and growth with all of you. After all, it isn’t every day that you’re in a bridal and prom shop. Come see what Black Tie is all about in 2024, share your stories about your prom dress you wore. Reminisce on the memories you made in your Black Tie bridal gown. Drinks and snacks will be served, and we may have a drawing for a giveaway or two! We want to encourage our guests to bring a photo of them in their prom dress, or on their wedding day to display. See you there!

One last THANK YOU!
Truthfully, as a small business we want to sincerely thank you for making 30 years possible. In 2024, there are so many options to shop online or from large department stores, but it’s our customers that decide to uplift and support a small local business that keeps us going. It hasn’t been an easy 30 years, but it HAS been the most rewarding. Every like on social media, kind words when chatting in your community, or even just visit to our website means the world to us. Thank you!

Let’s Celebrate!
